How we handle data on Couples Jury. This describes our current demo implementation.
What we collect
Couple sessions use a browser cookie tied to a display name and invite code. Voters use a random id stored in your browser (localStorage). We store case text, votes, moderation flags, optional notification email, and abuse reports.
How we use it
To operate the forum, show aggregates, moderate safety, notify couples when cases go live (if you opt in), and improve the product. We do not sell personal information.
What is public
Approved cases and vote rationales (anonymous by default) may be visible to anyone with the link or on the home feed. Pending or rejected couple submissions are visible only to the linked couple until published.
Retention
Closed cases may be archived and hidden from the feed after a period. We may retain moderation logs for safety and legal compliance.
Your choices
Clear site data to reset your voter id. Couple sessions expire if you clear cookies. You may remove an optional notify email from your dashboard.
